Happy New Year. Its been a great start to the new year so far. A few weeks ago I laid down some piano, hammond and backing vocals parts for local Melbourne band The Grownups. Some great tunes and looking forward to hearing the final mix. Been working on some original tunes with Chris Cole and also penned a new song for New Community Ringwood for their topic on Temptation. i'll be uploading the song soon when I finish recording and mixing the track.
Had a great time playing on the Rosebud Foreshore for the SUFM team. Great bunch of volunteers and had fun with changing the words to YMCA to a make it more relevant for the SUFM team.
2 gigs this week which I'm looking forward to - Solo @ the Wantirna Club and MItcham RSL with Honkytonk's Booogie Band. Hope to see you there!!
The past few months has been a good one. Recorded on Andre Camilleri's Jazz/Blues Album which was a lot of fun. Played a few gigs with some of the original line up from Crash & The Fender Benders. Started recording some original tunes and rehearsing and performing with the Blackburn Big Band.
Wow, its nearly the end of the year. Lots of shows in December and it was great to have Cal Barry play tenor sax with HTE for the Brunswick Hotel gig. Unfortunately we say goodbye to Mike Pilley who is a fantastic trombone player who has been playing with us this past year, as he heads overseas for new adventures with his family. A few more Christmas shows to go, a Jazz Trio gig at New Community Ringwood for their annual Christmas Banquet and on then playing with The Blackburn BIg Band for their annual Christmas show at the Treble Clef Jazz Lounge in Chirnside Park.
